4 Days 3 Night Trip To Kelimutu Lake
Day 1
Hotel Labuan Bajo – Ruteng – Aimere – Bajawa
Our team will pick you up at the hotel, and then we will depart for Ruteng. On the way, you will stop at Cancar village to see “Lodok,” a vast rice field area shaped like a giant spider web. You will not find giant spider-web-shaped rice fields anywhere else on Earth, as this is closely related to the tradition and culture of dividing arable land or customary land among the Manggarai tribe.
The journey continues to Bajawa, passing by Lake Ranamese and a local arak (palm wine) distillation site where the local people produce arak from Lontar tree juice through traditional fermentation and distillation processes that can result in alcohol content as high as 40 or 50%. We will then drive to the cool city of Bajawa. If the weather is clear, you can stop along the way to take photos of the beautiful pyramid-shaped Inerie volcano. Check-in at our selected hotel.
Day 2
Bajawa Tour ke Desa Desa Adat (Kampung Bena)
Breakfast at the hotel. Then drive to the traditional villages of Luba, Bena, and Gurusina. During your visit to these traditional villages, you will be amazed by the unique and beautiful architecture of the Ngada tribe’s traditional houses and the cleanliness of the villages. Additionally, you can witness how the local people produce traditional ikat sarongs, woven by hand using traditional looms without machines. You can also purchase these ikat weavings directly from the local residents as a special souvenir from the Ngada tribe.
After visiting the traditional villages around Bajawa, we will drive to the natural hot springs, either Mala Nage Hot Springs or Mengeruda Hot Springs in Soa. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 3
Bajawa – Blue Stone Beach – Ende – Desa Moni
Breakfast at the hotel, then drive to Blue Stone Beach, a beautiful coastal area on the southern part of Flores Island that holds its own wonders. Here, you can witness a stretch of volcanic sand beach scattered with blue-hued stones due to the minerals contained in these rocks. Hence, the beach is called “Blue Stone Beach.” Enjoy yourself by taking selfies, having fun, or swimming at this beach. Then, drive to Ende town for lunch. After lunch, continue the journey to the village of Moni.
On the way to Moni, you will stop at interesting spots for photo opportunities, including a visit to the Wologai traditional village to witness the traditional settlement and learn more about the culture and traditions of the Lio tribe in Flores. Drive to Moni village to check in at our selected hotel.
Day 4
Desa Moni – Danau Kelimutu – drop di Ende/Maumere
Today, you will wake up early to depart for Lake Kelimutu. The journey begins with a drive to the parking area at the foot of Mount Kelimutu. Then, a short walk or soft trekking activity to the peak of Lake Kelimutu takes about 30 minutes. Upon reaching the peak of Lake Kelimutu, you will be greeted with the breathtaking natural panorama of the three-colored Kelimutu lakes, which resulted from the volcanic eruptions of Mount Kelimutu several years ago. After enjoying taking photos and admiring the natural scenery at the peak of Lake Kelimutu, the next activity is to drive back to the hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will depart for Ende town, the nearest town to Lake Kelimutu. On the way to Ende or Maumere, you will also visit a traditional village. After visiting the traditional village and taking photos, you will continue driving to Ende town or Maumere to stay overnight or be transferred to the airport for your onward destination.
