3 Days 2 Night Trip To Wae Rebo
Day 1
HOTEL-LEMBOR-DESA DENGE-WAE REBO
In the morning at 07:00 AM WITA, you will be picked up at the Meeting Point (Labuan Bajo Hotel). We will depart directly to Lembor by car. Lunch will be at a local restaurant, and after lunch, the journey continues to Denge village, approximately 4-5 hours by vehicle. On the way to Denge, you can stop at several interesting spots to capture spectacular scenery. Upon arrival in Denge village, we will start trekking or walking to the Wae Rebo traditional village, which takes about 2-3 hours. Upon reaching the Wae Rebo village, we will be welcomed by the village elders. Wae Rebo is a secluded and mysterious traditional village in Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. It is located at an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level. The village consists of only 7 main houses, known as Mbaru Niang. Wae Rebo was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in August 2012, beating out 42 other countries. The village itself is 1,200 years old and has entered its 20th generation, with each generation lasting approximately 60 years.
After the welcoming session, we will continue with a traditional lunch prepared in the Wae Rebo village. After lunch, you can explore the uniqueness of Wae Rebo village, mingle with the local residents, and share experiences with them. Dinner will feature traditional Wae Rebo cuisine followed by free time activities.
Day 2
WAEREBO –DESA DENGE-RUTENG
After morning coffee, you can capture sunrise photos with the local residents, engage in conversations, and have breakfast until it’s time to leave Wae Rebo. We do not limit the time, and it will be according to mutual agreement. Then, we will return to depart for Denge Village. We will have lunch at a local restaurant in Denge. After lunch, we will continue our journey to the cool city of Ruteng, located at the foot of the highest peak on Flores Island, Mount Ranaka. On the way, we will stop at interesting spots to take photos of the natural scenery. If time permits, in the afternoon, we will do some city sightseeing around Ruteng and then check in at a hotel in Ruteng.
Day 3
RUTENG-LIANG BUA-LODOK CANCAR-LEMBOR-LABUAN BAJO-HOTEL
Breakfast at the hotel, then depart for Liang Bua Cave, located north of Ruteng. Stop at Golo Curu to take photos of the Kilo Lima rice fields and the beautiful view of Ruteng city. The journey to Liang Bua will pass through very beautiful rice field landscapes. The travel time from Ruteng to Liang Bua is approximately one hour. Upon arrival at Liang Bua cave, you will visit a mini museum to see the duplicate fossils of the Flores ancient humans (Homo floresiensis 2003) discovered in this cave by archaeologists from Australia and Indonesia. You will also hear a detailed explanation from the local community about the cave and the discovery of these ancient human fossils. Then, return to Ruteng for lunch. The next event is a visit to the traditional village of Ruteng Pu’u, which has two prototype traditional houses of the Manggarai people.
SPIDER RICE FIELD
Then depart for Cara village to see “Lodok,” a vast rice field area shaped like a giant spider web. You will not find giant spider-web-shaped rice fields anywhere else on Earth, as this is closely related to the traditions and culture of dividing arable land or customary land among the Manggarai tribe. The journey continues to Lembor to see the largest irrigation system on Flores Island and have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, the trip continues to Labuan Bajo, a town on the westernmost tip of Flores Island. Arrive in Labuan Bajo to stay at your chosen hotel. Thus, the execution of this tour package comes to an end.
